Runtime Micro began in 2016 as home for a hybrid construction method I call Permanent Solderless. It’s for enthusiasts who enjoy creating reliable, solderless designs using breadboards, wire-wrapped headers, and smart layout strategies. These builds aren't throwaway prototypes -- they hold up, year after year.
What You’ll Find
- Durable Solderless Techniques that make electronics long-lasting without recasting into a soldered state.
- Open-Frame Layouts that invite curiosity and experimentation.
- Integration of Pre-Built Modules—a method to combine pre-soldered modules with breadboard flexibility. The result is rugged builds, adaptable and tidy without being locked into one layout.
- Custom Cables creation for your Projects. learn how you can eliminate connection problems between Micro-Controllers and Breadboards. No soldering required!
You won’t find theory or academic deep-dives here. My aim is simple -- document and share practical ways to build useful, interesting circuits.
I’ve also created a free software tool to support Timer code for Arduino Nano, Uno Mega2560 and Mega-Mini boards. Its available here. It can save you loads of time creating sketch code for Interval-Interrupts or PWM waveforms.
Notes & Disclaimers
Everything shared on this site is based on personal experience. It’s not perfect, it’s not guaranteed—but it’s honest and tested. See my DISCLAIMER for more...
Also, mind the gear. Headers and exposed pins can be sharp. Use care when handling, especially if others are nearby.
A Little Background
I’m a self-taught Electronics Technician, now retired, with decades of experience designing, testing, and repairing circuits. Wire-wrapping prototypes and building test fixtures were daily work—and the mindset stuck.
When I came across micro-controllers like Arduino, I found a way to blend old knowledge with modern tools. What you see on Runtime Micro is the continuation of that path. If any of it helps you in your own projects, then it’s time well spent.
Thanks for visiting.
